Snehmilan Garden, Athwa – Complete Guide
Overview & Heritage
Snehmilan Garden (often written “Sneh Milan”) is a municipal park spread across ≈ 5,000 m² (1.2 acres) in the Kadam-Palli locality of Athwa Zone, Surat. Opened on 2 October 1980 and maintained by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), it was created to give the fast-growing Nanpura–Athwa neighbourhood a dedicated green lung and community recreation space.
Landscape & Key Features
- Gently undulating lawns bordered by mature neem, gulmohar and palm trees
- A 400-m jogging/walking track circling the entire garden
- Central flower beds with seasonal blooms and low hedges that double as photo spots
- Open-air gym equipment and a set of parallel bars popular with morning fitness groups
- Children’s play zone (slides, swings, merry-go-round) laid on a rubberised surface for safety
- A small ornamental lotus pond with fountain jets and seating alcoves around it, adding to the park’s charm
